We first met this lovely couple from Oklahoma when they came down to secure Vizcaya as their wedding venue. Five minutes into meeting them we could already tell how in love they were with each other. We realized this couple was destined to be together when we met with them at the Soho Beach House to film the story of how they met. It was truly amazing to watch the expressions on their faces as they recounted their love story that dated back to when John, a senior in high school, was Erika’s soccer coach, who at the time was in the sixth grade!
With Erika’s grandparents living in Miami and her Cuban background, Miami was the obvious choice for a destination wedding. The reception highlighted the Cuban culture with Café Bustelo and Cuban cigars, Cuban elements that were both foreign and exciting for their fellow Oklahomans and John’s Irish family.
For a couple that values family so dearly, Vizcaya proved the ultimate venue. Much like their marriage, this historical figure exudes beauty and elegance, and as the pastor mentions in the teaser above, it is “permanent, established, and built on a solid foundation.” After getting to know Erika // John it was clear that this metaphor was perfect for their relationship. Watch the teaser above for beautiful shots of Vizcaya, the lovely couple, and the reception!
