OUR STUDIO

Merge Studios SOCIAL is a collective group of some of the most talented young and creative filmmakers from Miami lead by creative director, Julien Diaz. Along with producing commercial work such as documentaries and music videos, Merge Studios has also focused their talents in creating modern documentary wedding films. This new division named Merge Studios SOCIAL, has innovated a new style of covering weddings, applying the same style and techniques as many of their commercials, documentaries, and music video projects. Their non-staged, unintrusive film-like documentary approach paired with modern main stream music is their signature style.

Our award winning team has won various awards for the wedding films, including 4 WEVA Creative Excellece Awards in our first 2 years of competition entry. We have also traveled outside of Miami for various destination weddings.

MEET THE TEAM BEHIND THE WORK

  • Julien Diaz A UCF Film School graduate, Julien Diaz started Merge Studios with a passion to tell captivating stories. Along with producing commercial work for clients such as Bacardi and Mercedes-Benz, Julien created a niche in producing high end cinematic documentary wedding films. As creative director, his team has won various WEVA awards.

  • Idalia Selva A FSU graduate, Idalia brings us her special, unique and creative style. Her editing talents and incredible taste in music contributes to the unique and captivating content we look to produce at Merge Studios.

  • Randy Valdes A graduate of Full Sail’s film program, Randy brings his incredible knowledge and expertise of lighting and film to our team. As Julien always says, “I hate shooting without him.” He has been and will continue to be an integral part of our team. 

    Cinematographer

  • Yvis Diaz Having joined us in 2007, Yvis has focused herself on creating the ultimate customer experience for our brides. Understanding the overwhelming task of planning a wedding, Yvis assist brides from our first consultation to the final video delivery and all the steps in between.
